You know it really bugs me when so much money is paid over stupid shit like who is the fastest and most accurate texter in America. I mean WTF, why not pay some of this money to more deserving and desperate people who really need it. Who cares how fast anyone sends a text message?!?!

“It’s all in the thumbs”, says 15-year old Kate Moore who won LG U.S. National Texting Championship. I didn’t even know this competition existed. She beat 20 other finalists in a 2 day competition which was designed to “test texting speed, punctuations, capitalization, abbreviations, dexterity, nerves, athleticism and knowledge”.

She had to go thru challenges like texting blindfolded and texting while maneuvering through a moving obstacle course. Doesn’t it sound retarded to encourage activities like texting while driving

Kate Moore had been sending about 14,000 texts per month and around 400-500 texts per day and she got her first phone just 8 months ago. She really needs to get a life and organizers of such ridiculous competitions need to take a look around, there are plenty of deserving people in the world who don’t even have clean water to drink or a bite to eat. I mean REALLY!
