Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero’s 13-year-old Alba (right) and 16-year-old Laura (left) are rarely in the public eye, I wonder why. Yo Jose, gotta keep this shit on the D low, you done messed up now. I am sure people are going to wonder why he is running the country when he can’t even get his own house in order.

See that signature Obama smile, he had to take over 130 pictures but that smile never changed. Now thats really weird. How can you have the same exact smile for over 130 pictures. This is one consistent Obama smile, see for yourself.

I remember watching Mackenzie on “One Day at a Time” in the early 1980s.  If you never saw the show, chances are you missed her acting talents and never got a chance to see her perform.  Anywhere.  She was fired publicly in 1984 using drugs on the set and coming to work absolutely non-functional.  She hardly worked at all after that.  She was bad news.

Many think that was the beginning of the end.  In reality, her end started a few years before that.  Her firing just made it official.

We live in a nation where obesity has become an epidemic.  Overweight has become the norm.  Parents pass it along to children.  It’s no longer a disgusting surprise to see a toddler so fat he can barely toddle.

Is this parental abuse?  Is this neglect?  After all, if you can’t control your own food intake, how are you expected to control others? Even if it’s your kids?

It’s tough, if not downright impossible.  If you and hubby are munching on fried chicken and pork rinds, it’s a real stretch of the imagination to think you’ll be giving your kids steamed vegetables and lean chicken.

By all accounts, Juan Carlos Rivera was a good kid.  Brought up in Cuba, the son of physicians, he recently moved to Miami with his grandmother and uncle.  He learned English quickly and started school at Coral Gable Senior High as a sophomore.  His classmates say he was a nice kid, classy, good looking, never caused a problem.  After high school he wanted to join the medical ranks of his parents and uncle, but he wanted to work with animals.  He wanted to become a vet.

Yet just two days ago he was stabbed to death on school property in plain view of others – who never tried to step in and do a thing.

When I was in school teachers were our substitute parents.  If we acted up, we got punished.  No one took us out back to give us the belt, but the boys typically got wacked on the side of the head or even got their knuckles smacked a few times with a ruler.  No one complained.  Even the kids!   Why?  Because we knew if went home crying about a teacher “giving it to us”, our parents would probably double the punishment!
